Happy Friday🎉 We’re back! We’ve been MIA from y’all for a few weeks wrapping up projects, but not gonna lie, I’ve also been in a writing rut! 🤔After reading a post from @construction2style today, it’s nice knowing I’m not the only one who goes through content droughts😝(Seriously check out the dynamic duo, they kick ass!) What inspires you to keep going or pick yourself back up? For us, it’s travel and immersing ourselves in new places and cultures🌎 This pic was from our last trip to Russia in March. It reminds me that if we stay positive & motivated, new opportunities and more travel will be in our future 👊🏼If you asked me 5 years ago where I pictured myself, it sure wouldn’t have been in Russia and it sure wouldn’t be a business owner of a vintage lighting business. But that’s the beauty of life. Take chances, believe in yourself, bust your buns, and just be an good person. That’s the recipe we’ve been going off of, anyway! What fuels your fire?🔥

One of the happiest days of our lives was November 24, 2015. The day all of our research, pinching pennies, working multiple jobs, uneasy traveling, & awkward Russian business negations finally paid off🎉 Our 40ft. shipping container of vintage Soviet industrial light fixtures safely arrived at our warehouse after 45 days of transit from Moscow to Minneapolis. We had no idea what was in store for us 🙉 Not gonna lie, we’ve made up a lot of it as we go, but when there’s no rule book for your business, you just have to bust your ass and trust that things will work out (if they’re meant to). Was our idea crazy? Yes. Are we crazy? Probably. Do we love what we do? Most days. Would we do it all over again? Absolutely. #oldlightsnewlife
